Chinese computers?
April 8, 2008 at 3:51 pm | In Uncategorized | 21 CommentsIs it wrong that I’m so pissed off at my older sister still that I won’t go over to my mom and dad’s house until she leaves? She showed her face for the first time in goodness only knows how long on Saturday morning. My mom gets a 3AM call from the bus station asking for a ride. I guess that just goes to show that consideration doesn’t come naturally…if it’s a gene, my sister got the recessive part of it. I don’t understand how one persons brain can work so completely differently than another’s, especially when we come from the same place? I’d love to go off on her and talk about all the things that have happened that lead to my feeling so bitter towards her, but I won’t.
Do Chinese computers have different keys than American computers? I’ve been getting tons of spam from some kind of Asian language symbols, but I don’t know where they come from. Isn’t it too confusing to have keyboards in English, Spanish, and symbols? I’m confused by this. Does that make me stupid? Or closed minded? Wouldn’t that make things too hard if there were synbols and letter s in a ton of languages? I should google this.
Its day 2 of the morning show workout and I’m not excited about it at all today. I’m starting to give into the fact that being skinny is too much work and maybe I’m just meant to be fat. I’m not obese by any stretch, but I’m not thin as a rail either. I guess it’s unrealistic of me to think that being a size 2 is easy…and my obsessing over it only makes it worse. So typing this is probably doing me no good.
Do you now love the new Leona Lewis song? I could listen to it a hundred times a day and probably still not be sick of it. J-Si and I sing along to the new Lil Mama “Shawty Get Loose” song because it makes us happy. I can’t do Lil Mama’s rap well at all, so I have an all new respect for her. Go ahead. Google the lyrics and try to keep up with her. Not possible . At least not for me. I’m going to keep trying and see if I can make it all the way through it at some point. We do it two times a day after the show. Except for today because we have meetings. I could really use it today because I’m still dragging trying to wake up.

No, its not wrong to be upset with your sister. I have two sisters, neither of which live anywhere near my parents, and they both seem to think that when they call everyone should drop everything and run to their assistance. Never mind that we have lives here and are busy also. They don’t appreciate the things we do try to do for them and are rarely happy with the results. What can you do though….its family!!!

ummm… yes, you are wrong to be mad at your sister. she did nothing to you (this time) and being mad on behalf of your mother is useless. that’s her fight.
sounds like there may be several things that she’s done to you over the years and now every time she breathes, you get mad at her. it’s hurting only you.
of course, i don’t know the circumstances behind the phone call.. but it could have been worse. she could have called your mother from a crack house wanting to borrow $20.
you seem like a nice girl, shanon, but you have a lot of growing up to do.

I’m going to go by James Bond and say that Chinese computers have different keys than American computers. Since in the movie he tried to use a Chinese computer and couldn’t because he couldnt read the keys. We all know if it happen in a movie then it must be true.

I imagine it’s frustrating to watch a sibling be so disrespctive to your mom. Esp. if there is a history of issues. But, you can’t control her – you can only control how you feel and react to it. So, don’t let it get under your skin. We love you, Shannon!

No, I don’t think it’s wrong to be mad. So long as you have your own reasons to justify a certain bitterness, you need not seek others’ opinions. However, if you find yourself thinking “Maybe I should say something to her before I leave this world”, you may as well get it over with, in my honest opinion.
Yes, Chinese keyboards have different characters than American ones. Spanish characters and accents can be accessed on English keyboards, though. Chinese and Japanese have a completely different set of letters/characters than us, but the Spanish and English alphabet are roughly the same, save accent marks and punctuation. You’re not stupid. And you’re not closed-minded, either. It’s almost like someone has to be under the influence of something to think “Hey. What about Chinese keyboards?”–that shows no signs of closemindedness. You’re just weird.
But I am too. Weird is cool.
I think you’re quite attractive, however overweight you see yourself. I doubt that compliment is of much use to you, though. I don’t think you’ll be able to escape what ails you about this situation because if you’re around TV, radio, the Interweb, or anything that is marketable, you’re going to see…THIN THIN THIN!
Leona Lewis has a fantastic voice. But…I don’t understand the emotion behind the lyrics. She loves someone, but they cut her veins open and she bleeds (thoughts/emotions/feelings of) them? What’s your take on the song, since you loves it so?

hmmmmm…..me thinks Michelle and Melanie = same people…possibly ?? Anyhow, if you two knew ANYTHING about Shannon and you listened to the show, you’d know she’s the most responsible ADULT on the show.
Shannon, I understand your sister situation. Sometimes people push you way too far and you finally have had enough and you HAVE to say No no matter how much it hurts….That’s the way it is with my family……

Wow, some of these people are being rude
It’s so funny you ask that about the keyboards, because me and a co-worker were just sitting here yesterday wondering about that because of a message we saw in Russian. LoL. So, i suppose they do have their own keyboards in different countries 
You aren’t ignorant what-so-ever, so you can just ignore all of those comments 
And yes, I am pretty sure I can’t get tired of Leona Lewis’ song as well, its great

just breathe. Being mad at your sister is pointless. As long as you have a great relationship with your parents, that’s what counts.
Also, you’re not fat! Being a size 2 doesn’t really mean anything, it just means, you’re a size 2. So what.

Shanon, you are by no means ignorant. Melanie needs to ease up, because I am sure that she isn’t perfect – nobody is.
Growing up in America we aren’t required to learn other languages (as opposed to other countries where kids learn 3-4 languages in school). Because most of us only know 1 language we don’t think of other things like keyboards. To be perfectly honest, I had never thought about that before and thought it was a great question … and Melanie, before you say anything, I am by no means ignorant – maybe I am just uneducated regarding things in other countries.
I also think it’s perfectly okay for you to still be pissed at your sister. She tried to steal your identity for God’s sake. That has nothing to do with growing up (for everyone else’s benefit that told her to grow up) – Shanon, your sister needs to grow up. Your sister needs to better her life and sometimes that takes tough love. Believe me, I have experienced drama with my sister and sometimes you have to give tough love.
Anyways, keep your head up and don’t let these morons on the message board get to you

i come to this board on my own… i do not play games trying to be two identities. of course, for those of you who are ignorant of the computer world, shanon most likely has access to see whether or not two people with different names are communicating on the same computer.
my comments were not harsh. they were honest. when shanon asks an honest question, she should be prepared to receive an honest answer.
i am not a “shanon hater”, however she has a lot of growing up to do… that’s just a fact.

Its y’all…not ya’all. Sorry, just had to point that out. It looks to me like shannon is not the only one that has some “growing up” to do. In my opinion no one is completely done growing up. If you were then you would be dead. Just my opinion though. Shannon, you are great!! Everyone else, calm down and have a nice day!
